MaryLou McGirr was a classroom teacher for 23 years in Huron and Tulare, South Dakota, prior to coming to TIE. She taught computer education, business education, K-12 gifted education, and video productions. As an Education Specialist at TIE, MaryLou engages in a diversity of educational consultant work guiding educators and schools in a capacity building and continuous improvement process. With attention to the research base, MaryLou and colleagues engage in strategies and processes for impacting teaching and learning practically and productively. She enjoys working with all audiences in organizational development and strategic planning. As a certified Agency Trainer with the Center of Cognitive CoachingSM, MaryLou facilitates Foundation Trainings and Proficiency in Coaching Trainings to educators across the state.
